Eric Smadja is psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Member of the Paris psychoanalytic society and a psychoanalyst of couples. He is also an anthropologist, Member of the American Association of anthropology and member of the society for psychological anthropology. In 2007 he was awarded the IPA Award for an outstanding "Contribución research psicoanalitica". " He is the author of several books, the last of which is Freud and Culture.
