I am a psychoanalyst working in private practice in Goa on India’s west coast. I am also a child analyst, currently offering psychoanalytic psychotherapy to children and adolescents at a not-for-profit organisation that works with children with special needs.
I came into psychoanalysis after having worked as a journalist for 25 years. I was fortunate to be in Mumbai at that time where I trained to become an analyst with the Mumbai Chapter of the Indian Psychoanalytical Society (a member of the IPA). I began practice 15 years ago in Mumbai. Today I practise as a psychoanalyst in Goa and I remain a member of the Psychoanalytic Therapy and Research Centre (PTRC) in Mumbai. I’m on the faculty of the PTRC, conducting Skype seminars and supervisions with candidates in Mumbai.
I’m delighted and honoured to be part of the editorial team of the ejournal. I look forward greatly to collating writings from authors in the Asia Pacific region, in order to help the cross-fertilisation of psychoanalytic concepts and practices across nations and make these more accessible to readers far and wide.
